"Contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints." Jude 3
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. The Bible principally teaches what we are to believe about God and what He requires of us. In the Bible, we learn the story of God’s redemption culminating in the Gospel of Jesus Christ who was crucified for us and for our sins, raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father from where he will return to judge the living and the dead. Jesus Christ is the King and Head of the Church.
The Bible itself is the only infallible rule of faith and practice. A concise summary of the Biblical doctrines we hold can be found in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Our Denomination
Reformation Presbyterian Church is a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. (PCA). The PCA was formed to be a denomination that is “Faithful to the Scriptures, True to the Reformed Faith, and Obedient to the Great Commission.”
The PCA is often described as an Evangelical, Reformed, and Presbyterian denomination.
Evangelical -By Evangelical, we mean that we emphasize the Gospel, the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, as well as being a church that affirms historic Christian doctrine and holds to the inerrancy of Scripture.
Reformed -By Reformed, we mean that we are connected to the teachings of the historic church and the doctrinal beliefs recovered during the Protestant Reformation. These doctrinal beliefs are expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms . All elders and deacons of the Presbyterian Church in America must personally subscribe to and uphold the teachings of our confessional standards.
Presbyterian -By Presbyterian, we are describing our representative form of church government. Local churches are governed by multiple elders (“presbyters”) which are called a “Session.” These elders are elected by the members of the congregation. Elders from each local church compose a regional “Presbytery” and a national “General Assembly.”
